History

The fruit of the initiative of one man, Sunny Borg, Bortex was one of the first export-oriented manufacturing enterprises to be set up in Malta in the early Sixties.

It became a leading European manufacturer of formal menswear, initially operating in partnership with leading foreign names. Subsequently it became a solely Maltese owned group.

The company’s board is now chaired by Lino Spiteri, a former Maltese Minister of Finance and of Trade and Economic Development, and Chairman of the Central Bank of Malta. The other directors are Peter Borg (Managing Director) and Karen Bugeja. Joe Cachia is the Marketing and Sales director.
