The Maltese islands continue to be the hub of the Bortex Group. Key staff responsible for marketing, sourcing, design, sales and production planning are based in Malta. From here, dedicated teams travel worldwide on behalf of our customers to source materials, develop innovative product ideas, and to execute production.
Bortex’s wholly owned production unit is based in Tunisia, where the company employs over 500 Tunisian nationals and several other Maltese and foreign nationals who bring a high level of skills and expertise to the plant. The investment in state of the art equipment also enables the factory to meet the demanding exigencies and specifications of its prestigious clientele.
Bortex believes in the need to be innovative and creative and to being responsive to changing market trends and to changing customer requirements. Whether it is half canvas garments or floating chest, deconstructed or washed garments with extensive sartorial details or the ability to handle delicate and sensitive fabrics and materials a highly experienced team of technicians based in Tunisia ensures that the high standard of quality Bortex is renowned for is rigorously maintained whatever the volumes of business. The factory in Tunisia has a daily capacity of 600 suits or jackets and trousers which translate to circa 150,000 suits annually.
Stock holding and logistic
Bortex offers a stock-holding and distribution facility to enable clients to make just-in-time call offs. Products which are made in Tunisia are usually held at a custom built warehouse adjacent to the factory and shipments are effected by road trailers as and when customers require them.
The Malta depot includes a fully equipped state of the art pressing facility which allows refreshing of garments, as well as total repressing whenever this is required. Lead time from Malta to most major European capitals is usually around one week and deliveries are effected from Malta by road trailers.
