Gagliardi 2010
International retail expansion continues with acqusition of the fashion brand, Gagliardi.

Bortex Clothing Industry set up wholly owned production unit in Tunisia closely followed by the setting up of joint ventures in China.
1997
Diversification into retail as Bortex Fine Tailoring launches its first factory outlet.
1996
Bortex Clothing Industry becomes wholly Maltese owned. Next PLC shares bought by the Borg family.
1995
Bortex granted Rochas international licence.
1987
Van Gils shares bought by the British retail group, Next PLC enabling Bortex to spread its product profile into children’s and ladies’ wear.
1978
Company awarded the Phoenicia Trade Trophy for its Achievement in Industry.
1971
Entered into partnership with the renowned men’s fashion manufacturer, Van Gils of Holland to produce high quality tailoring.

Bortex Clothing Industry was set up in October of 1964, to produce jeans and similar items of clothing.
